WET BLASTING
Abrasive blasting with the induction of water is a great way to blast these buildings, because the water acts in two ways:
- It helps to control dust.
- It has a great ability to suppress and help control the impact of the blast media, it acts as cushion against the brickwork or stonework, while also washing away any debris leaving a clean surface.
PREPARATION
On this occasion, the abrasive blasting is for preparation purposes, prior to other finishes being applied to the building. On the majority of these types of blasting jobs, the blasted surface is the actual finish. As a growing number of these types of properties are now suffering because people have painted them with modern plastic type paints.
Lime mortar building need to breath & painting them with modern paints equals big trouble in the future !
“Lime Wash” is the material of choice for these types of buildings, it’s worked for hundreds of years without issue.
