ABRASIVE BLAST CLEANING CONCRETE

Removing a coloured coating from a concrete surface, This surface was coated with many years worth of a coloured coating. The objective was to remove this green coating of 3-6 mm thick, leaving the natural concrete surface on show.

STEAM CLEANING & SAND BLASTING

This surface was cleaned with a two stage approach, Steam Cleaning & High Pressure Abrasive Blasting. As the coating was so thick, you needed to remove as much loose material and dirt as possible, before Sand Blasting the surface, other wise you would spend half the time & energy just blasting the flakes and dirt out of the way. Approximately 1 tone of coating was removed from this surface prior to blasting.

HIGH PRESSURE BLASTING CLEANING

Some ares of this job required a tough approach, to remove this coloured coating. This was conducted with  about 8 bars of pressure, with a fine grade of crushed glass as the blast media. Being careful not to cut the concrete surface, uncovering too much or the underlying aggregate.
